IP, or IP address -

Every machine on the Internet has its own unique IP address, consisting of four sets of numbers, each set may contain up to three digits and is called an “octet” and each octet is separated by dots. The four octets together, make an "IP address". This is what an IP address looks like: 214.34.70.10

It is worth noting that several computers behind a single fireway may all display the same IP, since it is the firewall's ip they are showing. Also, users on dialup connections may show a different IP for each pageview.
